Thursday, a rather hot one today. I guess it is summer it might as well be hot now. 

I picked blueberries this morning, now that was a hot endeavor. I was pleased to see the bucket full.

I enjoy picking them but it could have been a little cooler. I’m up in the studio now trying to cool off and enjoy the quiet.

Maine Quilts

It's time for the annual Maine Quilt Show at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta!

There will be lots of quilts on display and plenty of vendors for shopping.  We are planning on attending on Friday, anyone else?

Thursday evening, where does the time go. I know it must go somewhere as it is mid-July and almost Maine Quilt Show time. (July 24-26) That means summer is half over, a sad thought. 

Carol has had a couple tomatoes but not many and I picked her a couple of cucumbers today. 

Earlier I told you about the frog that jumped out at me when I was watering. I haven’t seen it lately but saw this little green guy instead. 

I guess being green makes sense if you hang out in the bushes. I could hardly see this little guy.

Thursday evening from the studio. 

It is nice out but we are wiped. We went to Augusta to the Maine Quilt Show. There were quite a few people there and a wide selection of different quilts and wall hangings. Most were not of my tastes but I could still be impressed with the end results. I actually saw none that I needed to run home and see if I could replicate. Lots of circles and paper piecing that I have not developed a taste for.

Thursday evening, sitting by the fire. 

A beautiful evening. I did not think I would get a fire this evening due to the storms. However, the storms have apparently happened earlier than I expected and are now gone. I slept through the storm so I guess you could say it was a nap length storm.

Signs of Summer

It's finally summer!  Not much happening here, we haven't been doing too much other than enjoying this summer weather.

The plants are loving the sunshine and we have started getting cukes and tomatoes.

Dan here, sitting by the fire on Tuesday evening. It rained earlier this evening just before I cooked supper’s burgers on the grill. It cleared up rather nicely and I have, so far, enjoyed a pleasant evening. My view tonight with the time lapse off, letting the camera only use the light it sees as available.

It rained on Monday, like we never get lately. It was a nice drenching rain.  It would be be nice to have known that it was coming though, but hey, it seems the weather man didn’t either. It was late in the day so I got my walk in.  

Tuesday was nice, but it was so bloody windy. Hard to enjoy the day with the wind howling like it was. 

Vanessa and her kids came on Tuesday as did Erin. They all went for a swim, Carol included.

Maine Quilts 2022 ~ Part 1

Those of you from Maine may already be aware that Maine Quilts  will be special for Carol and I this summer.

As you are aware, if you have following this blog, I have been working on a series of quilts that Carol has been frantically quilting.

For many they have been referred to as my Rona quilts. These were the quilts that I created after isolation was imposed due to the COVID 19 virus. I called this the Rona virus and referred to the quilts created as the Rona quilts. They have grown to include the first two that I started as my stash buster series of scrappy quilts ~ now called my “Can I Use up My Stash?” series.
