Monday Memories

Carol here ~

This quilt popped up on my Facebook memories the other day.  It is called BE DAZZLED, the pattern is by Michelle Hiatt of Sew On The Go.

Dan's Ramblings

Dan here ~

Thursday evening, from the studio.

No more fires, so longer quilting times. I completed the project I was working on, the top is done. The only name so far is Mine. Some people know that is what I often write on my sewing things. Scissors, rulers etc. I write Mine on them. Seems weird, I suppose. But think again who does it. Enough said.

I will live with the corner stones, although not in love with them. Complete and time to move to the next one.

Dan's Ramblings

Dan here ~

Sunday evening, no fire tonight and sadly they are probably over for the season, at least evening fires. Forecast calls for night time temps in the low 20’s. Time to move inside until spring. It’s only 6 months away. Be here before you know it. I’m glad I won’t need to walk so much pretty soon. My walking is now at just over 1950 miles for the year. Maybe after I stop walking so much I can gain some weight. Time will tell.

Back in June I commented that I was making a commission quilt. I was hired to piece it and Carol to quilt and bind it.

The quilt was for our good friend, Michelle Rene Hiatt of Sew on the Go. Let me tell you, piecing a quilt following directions for all trimming and pressing requirements was a challenge. Especially anyone who knows Michelle knows that she likes a whole lot of different fabrics. I only use a bunch when making scrappy quilts. Which is about all I have been making for the last couple years.

This and That

Carol here ~

I am not liking this time change one bit.  It's put me in a funk, I have no motivation to do much of anything.  Not that I have a lot I have to do, but I do have a lot I want to do.  Need to kick myself in the butt!

I did manage to get started on the quilting of the green Hunter Star quilt that I had loaded onto Lena Longarm last week.  Got it about half done.

Dan's Ramblings ~ New Shed

Dan here ~

What a night for a fire, dead calm and not that cold. Remember the fire helps. I’ll take it for November 6th, Sunday evening.

I have a very firm belief that these evenings are numbered. I’m gonna really hate to come in tonight. It was a pretty sunset even if it was wicked early.

Dan's Ramblings

Dan here ~

Tuesday evening and you guessed it out by the fire.

The weather here has been incredible. It did finally get cold enough that the tomato plant that I had been trying to get some tomatoes out of finally got frosted. Not completely but she’s a gonna. I want the six to eight tomatoes that I got to ripen for their seeds. I have never done it with tomatoes before. I used to grow a lot of my flowers from last year’s seeds when I had the greenhouse. Don’t see why I can’t cut open the tomatoes and let them dry and plant some in the spring. Wait for it… time will tell.

Quilts and a Recipe

Carol here ~  I've had a couple good out front patio binding sessions this week. I finished up 2024-3 earlier in the week 2024-3 and 202...
