It's Melting!

Carol here ~

I see beach! The snow has started melting off the beach. At this point, it looks like there is quite a bit of beach under that snow. It will change though with the ice melt and the spring rains. In a normal spring the water is right up to our wall. We shall see…

Most all of the snow right around the house is gone except for a small section on the front patio.

Click here if you missed our post last fall on the new retaining wall/patio project.

With the lovely spring days we had at the first of the week it was tempting to get the patio furniture out but I know it’s way too early as winter will have it’s last hoorah at some point. We did set out a couple folding chairs at the back door as that is a good place to put on and take off muddy shoes.

We have started walking around the pond again as the snow has completely melted off the path going up the banking and is mostly gone from the ridge.

I haven’t had a very productive week ~ the warm, spring weather made me very lazy! Plus we have had a couple of appointments this week, just enough to throw off my schedule. Good excuse, I guess.

Our daughter, Erin, is a music teacher in Rangeley. Because she hasn’t been able to sing in the classroom, she teaches her students by recording herself singing, then playing it back for her students during class.

During this school year, she and one of her students, Emma, have been recording themselves singing and playing instruments. They are awesome!

Here is their rendition of “These Hands” by Dave Gunning.  The hand photos are from community members, friends and family.  Do you know which hands are ours?

What will your hands be doing this weekend?

Have a good one.

Dan's Ramblings

Dan here ~ Was out by the fire as it was a very nice evening. I had my doubts but the wind calmed down quite nicely.  I find it very hard ...
