The rest of the tree that fell across the driveway is gone as well as a couple from a neighbor’s place up the road. All have been split and stacked. I finished the square stack that I started when I began cleaning up the storms bounty and obtained a good start on another round stack. I prefer the round stacks, I only stack the outer circle and the inside is just tossed in as tightly as I can without really working at it. I think they look much more dignified.

A Quilt-y Weekend
Carol here ~
Happy New Year! Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.
We spent most of the weekend in the quilting studio.
Dan ended up with a total of 45 quilts pieced in 2023. Lena and I have quilted 32 of them. We organized the 13 left and made sure we had bindings cut and numbered for all of them.

This and That
Carol here ~
How can it be Friday again already? The weeks sure fly by.
Dan and I both had dentist appointments yesterday. I had a crown that needed a minor repair plus the tooth next to it had a crack that needed to be taken care of. Dan had a couple of minor cavities, didn't even need the novocain. Sheesh, I guess that's Merry Christmas to us. Pretty pricey.
Lena and I quilted up a couple of quilts this week. Here is #29.

Dan's Ramblings
Monday evening. I hope you all survived the foul weather of the last 24 hours. Warm weather and rain meant that most of the snow is gone along with much of the ice on the pond. I had measured about 2”-2 1/2” of ice out about 10 feet offshore. At the time I could hear the ice complaining and cracks arriving all around me. I was kinda glad I was only in about a foot of water. I didn’t break through.
I had a little fun on Friday. I thought I could hear something in the bathroom. A slight hiss. Carol then stated that she had heard the pump come on three times during the night. After she headed to an appointment, I decided that taking the front cover of the water heater cabinet was in order. I proceeded to dismantle the closet and sure enough, everything is wet and upon closer inspection I discover that the water heater had sprung a leak.
