A Talented Granddaughter

Carol here ~

Our granddaughter Kailey’s artwork has been selected to hang in the Maine Capitol Complex in Augusta! Proud grandparents here!

Kailey is a freshman at Maranacook Community High School. She has been drawing since she figured out how to hold a pencil. It will be interesting to see where her art takes her in the future.

Here is a photo she sent her mother from art class one day when she was working on her project. Can you tell she was working with charcoal?

I took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday (another one!) and cleaned out my car. We still had the lawn chairs in the back end rattling around from the last soccer game we went to so those had to go. Also did a quick vacuum, mostly just got the top soil off before I petered out. Better than it was.

Vanessa, Kailey and Jakob coming over tomorrow to help Dan rake the beach. Vanessa told the kids they had to help as it benefits them ~ less leaves in the summer on the bottom of the pond in their swimming spot.

Yesterday we watched the eagle swoop around out front, he definitely had his eye on something.  The ducks were not impressed, they flew out of here pretty fast.  The eagle never did catch anything, he ended up perched in a tree on the side of the pond.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Isn't it fun to watch the grands grow and show their talents. Some are obvious and some just emerging in directions not expected! You both must be so proud of her accomplishnebts :)

Dan's Ramblings

Dan here ~ Was out by the fire as it was a very nice evening. I had my doubts but the wind calmed down quite nicely.  I find it very hard ...
