Thursday evening out by the fire. A little breeze now and starting to get chilly, we’ll see if it dies down. Rather a slow week with not a lot happening around here.
Another “glamping” cabin showed up at the “camping area” beside us. It feels like it is in my back pocket but there is little I can do about it. What happens on the neighbors, hopefully stays on the neighbors. I don’t know how many more they plan on installing up there, you guessed it time will tell.
The peepers are loud tonight but it is difficult to show a picture of a sound. So if you have ever heard the peepers just imagine the sound. If you never have heard the sound, I feel sorry for you.
What I saw this week with my eyes open is this bellwort that grows along our driveway.

It is one of many wildflowers that grow along the edges when allowed to not have to compete with the debris from previous years. The new growth renews my understanding that everything changes without ever being different.
I am now being treated to a chorus of frogs singing and calling out to each other, answering back and forth like they do each year as they do froggy things so frogs can keep making their frog sounds every spring.
The rain the weather report said was to arrive around 9:00 feels like it might be getting here soon. I have felt a few drops but they may or may not mean upcoming rain.

Here is my three second time lapse of the pond from my chair by the fire.
Here is the fire.
The rain drops fall from time to time, I notice because I am not wearing a hat and can feel them on the hair deprived area on the top of my head. I may need to go inside soon.
In the studio I finished #15 for 2025. I was pleased with the results. I have always liked the concept of framing each block to isolate it from any seams in the adjacent block. In #15 for 2025 I used the math for the different combinations of blocks that are multiples of 72. I focused on 9 x 8 = 72, then that lead to 12 x 6 = 72. This is what I designed this quilt top around.
There is a lot going on in the blocks but there are a lot fewer scraps now, not that you would ever notice. I have more scraps than I can ever use.
My Mother had many crafts she loved and always had something in progress. She leaned towards rug braiding, I lean towards quilting. I passed some of her unfinished projects on to others. That won’t happen to me though, I plan on finishing all mine. I really enjoyed #15.
#16 for 2025 is being created around this same “rule of 72." This gives me enough for something for a border and stay under the 78” maximum I am currently designing around. (If someone would like a larger one created for them that could be arranged.) #15 will be using 9”, 8”, and 4” blocks. I’m quite anxious to see what it will look like. Hopefully some of you are as well.
The weather for this weekend looks even worse than some of the previous ones. I think rain is what I see for the next several days. Oh well, sew time.
Enjoy your weekend and stay safe, part of staying safe is remembering “Mother” on Sunday. For many of us our Mother is gone, so we honor the Mother of our children and say thank you, for they would not be what they are without their Mothers.
