Happy Summer!

Carol here ~

This past Saturday was the perfect first full day of summer ~ sunny, warm with a light breeze.

Dan and I were out in the kayaks counting turtles, we were up to 26 when Dan said there's another one ~ he reaches his hand in the water and catches this one!

I noticed this guy on the arm of the awning that goes out over the patio.  He is a Gray Tree Frog.

He was there for a couple of days, rode in and out every time the awning was open and closed.

A couple mornings ago the front windows were all fogged up on the outside when I got up. I saw these prints across the window, figured the frog must of moved on.

The last two days have been brutally hot.  Yesterday Vanessa, Kailey and Jakob came over late morning, Erin arrived a bit after lunch, Evan was already here as he worked Monday night and was working again last night.  Sister Terri had her grands Annie and Alex here also.

We got plenty of in the pond time.  You either had to be in the pond or inside in the A/C to stay cool.

I walked Monday morning on the ridge, thought it would be a bit cooler up there under the trees.

Yesterday I walked at 8:30 am, it was still too hot.  Not sure if I'm going to get out there today, I've got a beastly headache (I've had it all week), think I might just go back to bed even though I don't want to.  I've walked every day since April 1 so really don't want to break my streak.  ugh.

Our friend, Michelle Renee Hiatt, is featured in the July issue of AQ (American Quilter) Magazine.  Check it out here https://www.americanquilter.com/blog/meet-michelle-renee-hiatt-aqs-executive-show-director/

Remember to stay hydrated during this hot weather!
