Carol here ~
Well, I think I jinxed Lena Longarm. A couple of weeks ago I was thinking to myself that Lena was running so well, hardly ever had to adjust the tension, pretty much would finish one quilt, load the next and continue on.
I loaded quilt #21 expecting everything to be fine. Oopsie, not so much.

The top thread was snaggled on the backside. See those loops? (btw, I love the word "snaggled')
So, I did the usual ~ took the bobbin out and made sure there was no lint build up, put a new needle in, re-threaded. Didn't help so figured the next step was to replace the check spring which should be replaced periodically. We have not changed it in about six years so thought that might next.
But in order to do that the whole tension unit needs to be removed from the machine which includes taking the front face plate off the machine to get a wrench in there to loosen the tension unit so it can be pulled out.
We did that ~ replaced the check spring, put it back together, tried to adjust the tension. Three times. Could not get the tension right. Grrr.
I said to heck with that and have a call in for an appointment with the Innova tech. I figure it's about time Lena had a complete spa day anyway.
My sewing bud, great-niece Annie, was back with me a while ago. She is getting pretty good with her 1/4" seam allowance.
