Carol here ~
What a gorgeous holiday weekend we had, couldn't have asked for better weather. I remember past 4th of July's when we were waiting for the fireworks bundled up in winter jackets and wrapped in a blanket, sure not the case this year.
There was lots of activity on both ponds as everyone was enjoying the water. Mud Pond neighbors put on a very impressive fireworks display, so pretty out over the pond.
It was too hot for patio binding but I did finish up quilt 2024-6 earlier last week.

Dan and I spent the other morning (with the A/C cranking) doing a deep clean of the quilting studio ~ moved out the storage bins under Lena to vacuum and mop, dusted, vacuumed and mopped some more and did a bit of re-organizing. So much better, there was too much clutter for my liking.
I made bread and rolls yesterday morning as Grandson Parker was headed down to spend the night ~ he is the lover of Mamie's rolls.
He wanted to go to Portland to pick up an I-pad but didn't want to drive himself so I drove him down yesterday afternoon. Hardly any traffic, we zipped right along, a very short wait at the Apple Store and we zipped back home, with a quick stop for a frozen custard.
We went out on the paddleboards and got a little swim in before supper. After supper we went out in the kayaks, so many turtles!
We ended the evening with a fire and s'mores.
The beach is growing, plenty of space for the great niece and nephew and neighbor Jeff's company to play.
The Sunpatiens along the retaining wall are filling in nicely along with all the other flowers around the house.
Looks like today is going to be another scorcher, make sure you stay hydrated!
