Chores

Dan here ~

The fireplace I mentioned in last Friday's post requires a rather constant supply of wood to keep it crackling. Most of what I normally have been burning is all softwood. Not a problem, no real chimney to foul and while it is snapping and popping, it smells good. Unfortunately, it doesn’t burn a long time before another arm load is destined to be thrown in. A good evening will consume a large wheelbarrow full of the wood.

Landscaping

Dan here ~

Carol and I (ok really me) spend a lot of time in front of the fireplace in the evenings. I sit there, fire crackling and often read or listen to a book because with today’s technology I can sometimes switch back and forth.

Reading by the fire

After having all the work performed on the house, (read about that here) the only area left was our tiny outside space.

Dan's Story

Hi, I am Dan, the other half of the story. I started my career as a plumber working for my father, who had worked as a plumber for his father. I can not say it was my passion, but I was good at it. My passion throughout my life has been gardening and working in a greenhouse.

Welcome to our Home

Welcome to our first blog post! As we mentioned in our “About Us”, we plan to use this blog as a personal journal of our life here on the pond, our quilting, our family and whatever else seems important to document. Sometimes Dan will be posting, sometimes Carol will be.

Carol here ~

I thought I would start out by giving you a tour of our little home here on Green Pond.

Quilts and a Recipe

Carol here ~  I've had a couple good out front patio binding sessions this week. I finished up 2024-3 earlier in the week 2024-3 and 202...
