Thursday, New Years Day, hopefully you all had a happy healthy holiday season. We finish up our season with celebrations with daughter Vanessa’s family hosting Friday. We are certainly too small here during the “stay inside” season.
I guess it has been quite a long while since I rambled last.
I saw something interesting because my eyes were open the other day. Probably a good thing they were open as I was driving, but I digress. I noticed the car in front of me hit a grey squirrel which made it to the edge of the road. I didn’t think much of it as it is not an uncommon event. On the way hame I noticed a crow in that area up ahead. I then saw an eagle swoop down in front of me and scare off the crow. The eagle made a loop and swooped down and talons extended grabbed the squirrel and took off. The car coming at me was giving me a double thumbs up. Was cool to watch and even share.
The tractor has been having issues but worked ok when it was needed for the foot or so of snow we had. At least it was light and fluffy.

Most of the extra critters at the bird feeder have left (which is ok), unfortunately we now get a doe and her young one. I’m going to try leaving the light on tonight and see if that deters them.
In the studio I don’t know where to start. When I looked at the last blog I wrote I was promising #34 next time. There have been so many added since then I would need to study each one to try and decide how I made them. I have long ago stopped writing much in my notebook about each one. To be honest most have a date I started, one when I finished and the size. If I wrote down border measurements that was probably where I did. Trust me, I need to write them down somewhere as I will immediately forget them.
I guess I’m going to steal Carol’s idea and just give you a photo dump as I seem to have made another 11 since the #34 you were expecting to see. That’s right the total (much to Carol’s chagrin) ended up being 45. There will be changes in 2026, hopefully, meaning many of the tops will disappear after I am done. They will then be finished by others then subsequently donated. Time will tell.
