Thursday evening. Well I think winter is here now. I relocated about 5-6”of snow total today. I did it in two phases. I went out mid afternoon and again after supper. Not too bad, nice light snow. I have arrived at another term to use in the relocation process. After driving up the driveway through the woods I think painting the trees might be appropriate as well.
Last night I obtained a nice three second time lapse up the pond from the studio.

Not so much tonight. The moon is trying to shine, but it is through the clouds.
Carol and I received some culture this week. Grandson Parker (who turned 18 on the 5th) competed in the Poetry out Loud contest semifinals.
He did a great job, not as dramatic as some of his opponents, but an excellent presentation.
The other day as I was getting ready to leave in the truck I looked up and saw a mouse or mole or some kind of rodent hightailing it from one side of the driveway to the other. The poor things legs were going about as fast as they could go as it hustled to get across the exposed area and back undercover. When it hit the snowbank on the other side it bounced off and scooted over a couple inches and tried again to get into the protection of the banking of snow. Second attempt was successful. Before this last snowstorm I had noticed several holes where they had moved from one side of the driveway to the other. After watching this one just burrow their nose into the snow and keep driving their way into the bank of snow I see they probably don’t pay much attention about reusing the same hole over and over.
In the studio, I completed #4 for 2025.
It was centered around nine patch blocks finishing at 9”. I used a rather unique sashing of 2” V-blocks and Combination units. I was trying to use up some units that keep getting passed over during creation. Well. I was able to use up almost all of the combination units. Still have more V-blocks though. The pieced border got rid of some random 2-1/2” units as well. Overall I was pleased with the results.
#5 for 2025 is well on the way. I headed in a slightly different direction this time. While still centered around 9” V-block and nine patch units, the sashing strips are proving to be a challenge. Will be done by next time.
Another storm coming on Saturday into Sunday and again next week. It looks like winter finally arrived. I wasn’t terribly disappointed with the lack of snow but I guess what Mother Nature dumps I will paint the trees with.
Until next time stay safe and warm, remember shovel in stages. I’ll end with a joke Parker told me the other day. “A termite walks into a bar and asks, where’s the bartender."? Don’t feel bad it took me a minute too.
