Carol here ~
I got the Morning Star quilt washed, dried and on the bed ~ I love this quilt!
This quilt was pieced by Dan in 2010 during our vacation at Jekyll Island, GA. I quilted it this past spring and got it bound last month. About time, huh?
The pattern is from the book "Nickel Quilts" by Pat Speth and Charlene Thode. I believe it is still available to purchase from Amazon.
The wind last week did a number on Dan's flowers out front, couldn't keep them upright.
Once the wind let up he gave them a bit of a trim so they wouldn't be so top heavy. They still look pretty good considering we're pushing the end of September.
We had visitors yesterday! Long ago friends Jeanne, her daughter Jen, Jen's granddaughter Annie and Jeanne's hubby Joe. It was our first time meeting Joe and Annie.
My sisters granddaughter, Annie, was here also so the two Annie's had a great time playing on the beach and in the water.
It was so wonderful to catch up with them. Jeanne and Joe don't live too far from us so hoping we can see them more often.
The docks and swim floats are starting to disappear from the pond. We brought our swim in close enough to shore so that we can wade out and bring it the rest of the way in when we are ready.
We try to guess as to who's float disappears next. Yep, that's what we do around here for excitement.
Have a good week!
