Thursday evening and it’s windy as all get out. No idea where that expression came from. Cold and windy out, I’m glad it was only chicken burgers I was cooking on the grill for supper. Carol suggested the other day that grilling ends soon as before long it will be dark at supper time. Between that and the cold, grilling may need to stop for a while. I may move the grill closer to the door and sheltered, we’ll see.
We spent a couple hours last Sunday refolding and relocating all the quilts Carol showed you earlier this week that had been displayed on Paris Hill. It was different and it is over, enough said.

the oaks now have mostly brown leaves and they will soon fall and join the pine needles and the maple leaves on their journey from tree to the beach. The beach load count is currently at 28 and I see many more in my future.
Today I moved the swim float up onto the beach. It still needs to get the duck crap washed off of it. There is now only one float left out on the pond. I’m sure it will go soon. Colder weather is rapidly settling upon us. The front looks bare with the flowers gone and the float on the beach.
I’m beginning to wonder how much more I am going to do on the driveway this season. Maybe a little more smoothing out and some ditch work along with making sure the water has a way to run around the remaining pile of gravel. I really would like to see some rain. I gathered a great deal of information watching the other day as it rained. Time will tell.
The neighbors on either side of us have drained and shut down their camps for the season. Another sign that real cold weather is headed our way. Let’s hope for that mild winter they have been talking about. I guess we will wait and see.
In the studio I made a whole bunch more 4", 5” and 6” stacked square blocks. I then decided to use some of the 6” and I have framed them to make them 8” blocks and decided on a layout pattern. I am in the process of slowly assembling the top now. The layout only needs seventy one 2-1/2” square squared blocks to use in the sashing. It is a little different this time as the accent pop of the sashing does not occur as a cornerstone. You’ll see next time.
Hopefully tomorrow finds me with more energy than I had today. Time will tell. Fall must be in full swing now as Carol has plans of getting back to Friday sew with the girls tomorrow. Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
