Carol here ~
Holy hotness! It's been way too hot for me to be outside so I decided to stay inside in the A/C and wash the outside of all the kitchen cupboards. I was down most of last week with a cold so it felt good to be productive.
All this heat with no rain is making the water go down and the beach grow. You can see the difference in the size of the beach from one day to the next.
There has been a baby Green Heron hanging out under sister Terri's picnic table. We have not seen a Mum or Dad so are wondering if he's been abandoned. Poor little dude. Can you see him?
We have also had an Osprey hanging around. A couple times he was flying right at the front of the house, we thought he was going to go through a window, but at the last minute he swooped up and over the house.
Yesterday he decided it was bath time as we saw him on the edge of the beach with water flying everywhere as he was flapping his wings.
It was really quiet here over the weekend as we were the only ones on this end of the pond. Not usually something that happens during the summer months.
Have you noticed the sun setting earlier and earlier? Not many summer days left. That's OK, I'm looking forward to September and less humid weather.
Stay safe!
